It all began with one young girl’s fairy-tale dream to live in a castle with her prince.

Continuing on Helen Chubbock Lusk’s dream, the Soderstrom Family is proud to host all walks of life on the grounds, bringing the Castle’s various personalities to life.

One of the most iconic landmarks in Central Illinois, generations of Peorians have marked their happiest moments at the Castle, which is located on Grand View Drive.

Castle History

The Castle has only had 4 owners over the years and the love for it remains continuous.

Designed with features from all eras of castle building, the Castle’s short history spans just 3 generations.

Helen Chubbock Lusk brought bricklayers and masons from Europe to build this home, drawing inspiration from Romanesque (11th and 12th centuries) and Gothic (12th to 16th centuries) features.
