An Impossible Dream Come True! Dr. Carl Soderstrom’s son, Carl David, gave him a ticket to the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance for Christmas 2021. Dr. Soderstrom has a very rare Rolls Royce, a 1933 "James Bond Phantom II" which was owned by Sir Frederick Sidney Cotton, a friend of Ian Fleming and Sir Winston Churchill, who rode in the car after. Upon learning of the car, the Pebble Beach Tour de/Elegance committee invited Dr. Soderstrom and the car to compete in the 2022 Tour d’Elegance world famous collector car show.
The James Bond Phantom not only competed, but won its 3rd trophy over 50 years for its class, but drove 70 miles down the big Sur Highway, over the cliff hanger drive and over the Bixby Bridge, Big Sur andRocky Creek Bridge. Attending the Tour d’Elegance were Dr Carl & Cris Soderstrom, Carl & Jen Soderstrom, Erik Soderstrom, Matea, Ralph Gonzalez, Jason & Anna Courtney.
Each year, the Soderstrom Castle celebrates Halloween, welcoming children and adults alike for a night of fun.
After the Miss Illinois Scholarship Pageant, the Queen, her court, and local queens receive a photography day.
The Gentlemen’s Cigar Society of Central Illinois met at the Castle for an evening of fun.
